COordin8 ("we", "our", or "the app") is designed to help groups coordinate meetups, transportation, tours, and events in real time. Protecting your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use the app and how it is used.
Information We Collect
COordin8 is designed to minimize the collection of personal data. Most features can be used without creating an account or providing personally identifiable information.
Display Name
When joining a group session, you may be asked to enter a display name. This name is only visible to other members within the same group session and is not used to identify you outside that session.
Group Participation Data
When you join a group, the app stores temporary information related to that session, such as participation status, messages sent in the group chat, and acknowledgements (such as check-ins or taps).
Camera Access
COordin8 may request access to your device camera in order to scan QR codes used to identify meeting points, buses, checkpoints, or group invitations.
When an organizer creates a checkpoint by scanning a QR code, the app may capture a photo of the QR code to help participants recognize the correct location when returning.
Camera access is used only when you actively choose to scan a QR code. No camera footage is recorded or stored continuously.
Location Access
COordin8 may request access to your device location in order to:
- Show meeting points on a map
- Display the approximate location of organizers or checkpoints
- Estimate whether participants are near a meeting point
- Help organizers understand how many participants have arrived nearby
Location data is used only during an active group session and is not stored long-term or used to track users outside of the group activity.
Photos and Images
The app may capture images of QR codes or checkpoint markers when an organizer creates a checkpoint. These images are used only within the group session to help participants recognize the correct location or object to interact with.
These images are not used for facial recognition, biometric analysis, or any unrelated purposes.
Messaging and Chat
COordin8 includes a group messaging feature where participants can submit questions or messages within a group session.
Messages are visible only to members of the group session and may be automatically translated into the device language of participants.
Chat messages are associated only with the group session and may be deleted when the session expires.
Temporary Group Sessions
Groups created within COordin8 are temporary and automatically expire after a period of time. When a group expires, associated data such as participant lists and chat messages may be deleted from our systems.
How We Use Information
Information collected in COordin8 is used solely to operate the core coordination features of the app, including:
- Allowing users to join group sessions
- Displaying meeting points and checkpoints
- Facilitating group communication
- Helping organizers manage participants
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties. Information may be shared only as necessary to operate the service (for example, hosting infrastructure or translation services).
Data Retention
Because COordin8 sessions are temporary, most data related to groups, participants, and messages is automatically removed after the group expires.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information transmitted through the app. However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
COordin8 is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
