GuestGrid ("we", "us", "our") operates the GuestGrid mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:

Information collected automatically:
- Device language: Used to translate the App into your preferred language.
- Location data: Used only for the "Find My Way" navigation feature when you grant permission. We do not track or store your location history.
- Push notification token: Used to deliver notifications for messages and updates. Stored on our servers and associated with your check-in.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the service: Manage check-ins, display property information, process requests, and enable communication between Properties and Guests.
- Translation: Automatically translate App content based on your device language.
- Notifications: Send push notifications for messages, request updates, and check-in status changes.
- Payment tracking: Display payment status and amounts. We do not process payments directly.
3. How We Share Your Information
- Between Property and Guest: Information provided during check-in (name, ID, email, payment details) is shared with the Property you are staying at. Property information (WiFi, codes, rules) is shared with checked-in Guests.
- Service providers: We use Supabase for data storage and authentication, and Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for push notifications.
- Translation services: Text content may be sent to our translation API to provide automatic translations.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (hosted on AWS).
- Photos are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls.
- We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transfers.
- Entry codes and WiFi passwords are stored to provide the service and are only visible to checked-in Guests.
5. Data Retention
- Check-in data: Retained for the duration of the stay plus 12 months for record-keeping, then automatically deleted.
- Property data: Retained as long as the Property account is active.
- Messages: Retained for the duration of the stay plus 30 days.
- Push tokens: Updated on each app launch; old tokens are overwritten.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Data portability

7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
8. Third-Party Services
The App may contain links to third-party services (e.g., WhatsApp, PayPal, Google Maps). These services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
9. Cookies and Tracking
The App does not use cookies or third-party analytics trackers. We do not serve advertisements.
10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your data to these countries, where data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
