Nventori ("we", "our", "us") operates the Nventori mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address and display name when you create an account
- Authentication credentials (passwords are securely hashed and stored by our authentication provider)
Seller Profile Information
- Shop name, description, and address
- Shop photos uploaded by sellers
- Business hours and currency preference
- GPS location of your stall (only when you choose to capture it)
Product Information
- Product barcodes, names, prices, and quantities
- Product photos captured during barcode scanning
Transaction Information
- Bid and offer details including prices, status, and timestamps
- Reviews and ratings you leave for other users
Device and Usage Information
- Approximate location (used to calculate distance to nearby stalls)
- Camera access (used for barcode scanning, product photos, and QR code exchange)
- Search queries and search history (stored locally on your device)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the App's core features (inventory search, bidding, transactions)
- To display seller profiles, product listings, and prices to buyers
- To facilitate price negotiations between buyers and sellers
- To send push notifications about bid status updates
- To calculate and display distances between buyers and sellers
- To display ratings and reviews to build community trust
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared in the following limited circumstances:
- Between Users: Seller profiles (name, photo, address, hours, ratings) are visible to buyers. Buyer display names are visible to sellers when bids are submitted. Reviews are publicly visible.
- Service Providers: We use Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage. Your data is processed in accordance with their privacy policy.
- Product Lookup: When scanning barcodes, we may query public product databases (Open Food Facts, UPC Item DB) to retrieve product names. Only the barcode number is sent; no personal information is shared.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase's cloud infrastructure. We implement the following security measures:
- Row-level security policies ensuring users can only modify their own data
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure authentication with hashed passwords
- Photos stored in access-controlled cloud storage
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and Update: You can view and update your profile information at any time through the App
- Location: You can deny or revoke location permission through your device settings. The App will still function but cannot display distances.
- Camera: You can deny or revoke camera permission. Barcode scanning and photo features will be unavailable.
- Notifications: You can disable push notifications through your device settings
- Account Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below
- Search History: Search history is stored locally on your device and can be cleared within the App
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
7. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Authentication, database, real-time subscriptions, and file storage
- Apple Maps / Google Maps — Map display and navigation
- Open Food Facts — Product name lookup (open database)
- UPC Item DB — Barcode product lookup
Each service has its own privacy policy governing the data they process.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account information and transaction history for as long as your account is active. Completed transaction records are retained for dispute resolution and review integrity. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
9. International Users
The App may be used in multiple countries. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the country where our servers are located. We support multiple currencies to accommodate international use.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the App or through a notification. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
