Privacy Policy — Language RPG

This Privacy Policy describes how the Language RPG mobile application (the "App") handles information when you use it. Language RPG is a single-player, offline-first language-learning game. We have designed it to collect as little information as possible.

1. Information we do not collect

The App does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information. We do not run a backend server that receives data about you. We do not sell, rent, or share data with advertisers.

2. Information stored locally on your device

The App stores the following on your device only, using the operating system's standard local storage:

• Your in-game progress (cities completed, follower count, stars earned)
• Your onboarding completion state
• The last city and language you selected
• Anonymous gameplay event counts buffered for diagnostics (e.g., "translation completed")

This data never leaves your device. If you delete the App, this data is deleted with it.

3. Microphone access

The App uses your microphone so you can practice speaking the language out loud. Audio is processed by your device's built-in speech recognition (Apple Speech on iOS, Google Speech Services on Android). Per the operating system's normal behavior, this audio may briefly be sent to Apple or Google for transcription and is governed by their respective privacy policies. The App itself does not record, store, or transmit your audio. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device's Settings.

4. Text-to-speech

The App uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine to read characters' lines aloud in the target language. No audio is recorded or transmitted by the App.

5. Analytics and crash reporting

The App buffers anonymous gameplay events (e.g., which city was selected, whether onboarding was completed) locally on your device for debugging purposes. These events do not include personal information and are not transmitted to any external server in this version of the App.

6. Third-party services

The App does not integrate third-party advertising networks, social login providers, or analytics SDKs that send data off-device. The only third-party services involved are the operating system's own speech recognition and text-to-speech, as described above.

7. Children's privacy

The App is suitable for users of all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because no personal information is collected at all, we have no information to delete or restrict on request.

8. Changes to this policy

If this Privacy Policy changes in a future release of the App, we will update this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the App's release notes.
